Love AGE, Not Fond of Dragon Age setting

Postby Chugosh » Thu Sep 15, 2011 8:33 pm

I really like the game engine, but I keep feeling less love for the setting.

Question: Are there going to be any other settings/games using the same engine?

Question: Would a generic toolkit book be a possibility?

My favorite part of the game is the Stunt Point mechanic. I wish I could port that over into my other games.

We do have other plans for the AGE system, but first we must finish Set 3 for Dragon Age.

I really apreciate the quick answer, Chris.
In the beginning, I was very enthusiastic about the game, but the more I delved into the setting, the less I dug it. I never played the computer game, and so I did not have the setting in mind when I got it. I will say that there were several people who expressed interest in the game because they [u]had[/] played the computer game. I however am just table top sort of guy. For that it is a great looking box set, and really does play well. Still, I cannot get over how kewl the stunt point system is.
It is also probably the best looking on my shelf.

Best luck with the third set getting out!

So agree here, the DA setting is boring to me, would like to see some other ideas.

Approvals are such a wild card that it's hard to say, but we're working it.

Will there still be a adventure module before Set 3 is released? I believe something was mentioned once about one coming out, dealing with the Deep Roads. Or are all efforts being focused on getting Set 3 finalized, approved, and shipped?

We decided to focus on getting Set 3 done so we could get all the core rules out there.

It would be wonderful a Dragonlance game. The AGE system seems done on purpose.

There are a lot of various settings that I could see working well with the AGE system, which is why I am excited for this project.
