True20 and other GR Products Compatibility?

Postby lrojas » Thu Nov 24, 2005 7:54 am

Hi,

Juts recently i got the True20 and BR PDF books and i was wondering if anybody else has used True20 for anything other than Traditional Fantasy ( i mean Sci-Fi/Western/Wuxia/Modern )? Specifically i was wondering if buying Martial Arts Unleashed and Ultra Modern Firearms can be easily translated to True20? The Damage System is diferent so i am not sure how to interpret a weapon for True20.

Thanks in advance,

Luis

It's working for Stargate, with a dozen or so new Feats, a half-dozen skills, and new rules and weapon lists for automatic weapons - although I'm finding firearms and Staff Weapons aren't deadly enough using the official conversion rules!

We are having problems with the damage system though, the players are too used to D20 and just can't get with the program...

i don't know the books, but i think they should even easier comply into true20 (you get more feats, so you can customize easier, ecspecialla a specialist ;-).
maybe you need to split, for above reason, some feats into two - but thats the most.

for ideas on converting weapons - try to flip into m&m, they have some good rules for modern weapons and use the same damage system and compareable feat systems (don't know m&m2 to exactly, but own m&m1. imo both will do fine).

the dmg system compared to "vanilla d20" - maybe ppl are mot used to hitpoints, but the damage system is definitivly a big plus, once accustomed to.
