Has Anyone Created A True20 GM Screen or Cheat Sheet?

Postby FickleGM » Sat Oct 15, 2005 9:08 am

Just wondering if anyone has attempted to put together a GM screen for True20 (or even a cheat sheet).

I may do this someday (the cheat sheet, most likely), but without a lot of time on my hands I thought that I would check here first.

Thank you,

In fact, I have made a cheet sheet, and if i had the cardstock i would probably use it for a screen (or maybe i'll clip it to my Arcana Unearthed screen). I use horizontal/landscape orientation. First page is two columns, with Health conditions and recovery times, followed by Fatigue, social info (houseruled information based on a Monte Cook Line of Sight column) and a list of sample Difficulties for ease in adjucating on the fly. Second page is also two columns, intended as a player handout but also useful for a GM: first column lists the uses of Extra Effort and Conviction, second column is just the Familiarity chart for psychic powers.

If you'd like the word .doc i have, to save yourself time in typing it up or formatting, email me: xitaqa (at) yahoo (dot) com. Be sure to put True 20 Cheat Sheet in your subject line to reduce the risk of accidentally being deleted as spam, and remember that i get online pretty sporadically, so it may be a wait before i can reply (during which time you may find it worthwhile just to type it up yourself, of course).

I haven't put the skill charts on the sheet yet, but i've been meaning to for a while. Maybe I'll finally get around to it now. If there's anything else you'd like in it, go ahead and request it. I suppose that carrying capacity and load effects really belong there, but i've just never bothered to use 'em in play.

Hoping everyone got their files in good order. Haven't added anything beyond the first two pages i described above. I just haven't had the time. I just hope it's helpful.

I was able to put this on one side of a 8.5 X 11 sheet (by reduced the font, shrinking the margins and rewording where necessary). I did place the True20 Social Interactions back in and remove the Monte Cook version (I have never used that, so I figured that I would remove it - perhaps someday I will try it out). I also reworded certain portions to remain consistant with the True20 manual (once again, since I am still new to the rules I wanted to make sure that I am reading the same thing in both places).

I then added some 3.5 X 5 art work (4 pieces that I copied from the WOTC Eberron art gallery and resized).

Then I printed this on two sides of greeting card paper (8.5 X 11 cardstock with a pre-fold in the center - landscape). It works perfectly as a small GM Screen.

Once again, thank you Bhikku, your work is greatly appreciated.

Wow, FickleGM, it sounds like you made an ultra-deluxe version. Any chance I could see your version, if it's still in word .doc format?

I don't know if I'd call it ultra-deluxe, but I can send you a copy tonight.

Could I possibly be allowed a look too? I've drawn up a True20 Stargate character sheet front page modified from the PDF listed elsewhere on the forum, but a GM sheet has so far been too much for me!

Wow, excellent! Good additions, and very nice choice of art. Most evocative.

I particularly appreciate that you retained the horizontal alignment, since I tend to think that makes it easier to see your players over the top of a screen, whereas most publishers seem to retain the tall mode. (Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed screen, for example, is wide and low and cordons off a lot more space for your notes and sheets and dice and things, not to plug it too much).

Again, great work.

Thank you. Without going down to a 6 pt. font, there isn't much more that I could add. If I find that I need more information, perhaps I will create a second GM Screen. Then I can go with some different art (maybe some Elmore or some Conanesque art)...
