Where have you been? Hong Kong martial arts films STILL have ninja. I dont think you've watched enough martial arts flicks then. China has its own version of ninja also. Its called the Vagabond AND the Lin Kuei who sorry are not just from mortal kombat ethier. Hong Kong flicks still have had ninja in them despite being in China. They arent called ninja but there have still been black clad masked assassins in quite a few Hong Kong action flicks. There already are versions of ninja in western things anyway.

Sorry. Ninja always associate with Japanese culture, even though one of the theories of their origin happens to be that they are Chinese immigrants who passed on their trade secrets to the Japanese villagers.

The name ninja associates with Japanese culture but the skills are hardly only found in Japanese society. I did mention the Lin Kuei who are Chinese ninja after all. China alslo has something called Vagabonds.

Yep, China did have the Lin Kuei, or "forest demons", who were masters of deception, guerilla warfare, tricks and traps, and mastered a style of throwing weapons combat called An Ch'i, and are said to be predecessors to the Ninja.

Other lands also had Ninja, or ninja-like folks: Korea had the Sulsa, who were to the Hwarang (young noble knights) what the Japanese Ninja was to the Noble Samurai.. Only were accepted as official members of the Silla armies, unlike the Ninjas, who were considered social pariahs. And Tibet had the Trulkor, who's fighting and espionnage skills were heavily based on the principles of deception and illusion.[/i]
