The Undertaker

Arnold Henley has few memories from the cycle of despair, drugs and alcohol that followed his return from Nam. The horror that he witnessed during the war and the disassociation and neglect he faced upon his return to the states began his downward spiral, but no one could imagine how far he would fall. Nearly ten years later he began to piece his psyche back together, only to find himself in a graveyard gnawing on a bit of bone.

Arnold Henley had become a ghoul, an eater of human remains. Instead of turning back to madness and despair, Arnold found that he could do some good. He knows there are things out there that are much, much worse than he is.

Arnold continues to wear dirty and worn camouflage and most people assume he is homeless (and just pretending to be vet). Consequently they don't look too closely or pay too much attention to the smell. This suits Arnold fine. He uses his considerable army ranger training and considerable combat experience when dealing with foes. He is a flexible fighter, willing to use whatever means necessary, whether dynamite, silver bullets, or tooth and claw.

How about a character called "Broken Doll"? She'd be a former succubus who developed a conscience. She fights crime as a form of redemption.
Has a very bipolar personality with regard to male characters. Torn between her natural instincts to lure men to their doom and her fear of losing control again....

How about a character called "Tussaud". Magician whose favourite trick is to animate wax dolls and use them to fight crime. Elvis, Marilyn and James Dean are his favourites.

A character called "Chtuhoo!". A lovable dog sized tentacled blob with healing abilities, multiple limbs, stretching and an electrical attack (energy field).

A pollution elemental called "Mildew"- whose touch is deadly.

I was tossing around character ideas like this for a story not too long ago...

someone with living tatoos covering their body

a pirate's living corpse, impaled with a dozen blades, who must kill each of the 12 crewmen who killed them with mutiny, each with their own blades

a gardener who has a flower that needs blood to survive, and wanted the flower so much it is living out of him now, in a scary monsterplant fashion

Sticking to an Americana theme, how about a Gunslinger ghost or vampire (or other immortal undead)?

Something out of the Florida Everglades (so, its been done.)

Some monster out of the myths of a Native American tradition.

A monster built from rusted metal out of Detroit.

Well i have been playing with the idea of a vampire super hero - attoning for his past - very Forever Knight type guy with a bit of Batman thrown into the mix ! He calls himself Dr Halloween

Ever since he was possessed by the demon, Michael has gained extraordinary powers. He has gained strength and reflexes far beyond those of any human and stange regenerative powers. He has learned how to use the demon's magical energy to make a near impenetrable barrier aroud his body and lastly, he has gained the ability to fly by sprouting wings from his back whenever he feels like doing so (they retract whenhe's done).
Weaknesses : Susceptible (holy water), Quirk - Afraid of being in large crowds, Transformation - the demon takes over his body, transforming into his full demonic form whenever Michael tastes tastes blood.

Background : Michael was your normal high-school athlete, except that he was among the top Muay Thai fighters for his age in the world. One day, after returning from a night club with his friends, he was attacked by a large group of hooded figures. Caught off guard by the crowd of people, Michael was beaten to unconsciousness. When he awoke to the sounds of chanting and the smell of incense later, he was terrified.

Michael was naked and covered in blood, chained down to a table in the middle of what looked like, as far as he could tell from his position, to be a pentagram drawn in blood. The chanting slowed and one of the hooded figures approached him, sudenly drawing a wickedly curved knife. He forced Michael's mouth open and proceeded to slit his own wrist with the blade, forcing Michael to drink his blood. At this moment the chanting became faster and louder than it had ever been before and Michael suddenly felt another presence in his mind.

His body felt like it was on fire and it felt like it was growing. Before Michael knew what was happening his body was no longer his own. He was a mere spectator inside of the body of a demon and he had to watch through his own eyes as the demonic form that was once a human body killed and devoured everyone else in the room. After what felt like hours, Michael was somehow able to gain control over the monstrous body and he made it turn back into his own body. Naked and covered in blood and human flesh, Michael fled the scene, escaping to his home.

He could not help but think that he was a murderer. His mind and his heart were troubled. He could not sleep, so he cleaned himself up as best he could and went to visit his priest. The priest tried to perform an exorcism, but ultimately failed and managed to do nothing but burn Michael with holy water. He could do nothing but attempt to console Michael.

Michael eventually returned to school, but he was not his old self. During the course of the next few days, Michael realized that he had gained strange powers. Determined to redeem his cursed soul for what he considers to be murders commited by his own hands, Michael began to stalk the night as a protector of the weak and innocent, known to all as Redemption.

For the crime of drowning her two children, Martha Anaya was found to be not guilty by reason of insanity, but placed in the custody of the hospital for the criminally insane. The wailing woman, La Llorona visited Martha there in her dreams and gave her the opportunity to turn her grief and despair to some use for other unfortunate children. At night Martha transforms into La Llorona herself, and leaves wet footprints where ever she treads.

She is dedicated to the protection of the abused and neglected children, but her methods of dealing with their tormentors aren't always pleasant.

His unimpressive body was transformed into that of a god among men, a creature of the night. Taking to the skies he began terrorizing the Axis forces across Europe by night. American propaganda campaigns took advantage of the rumour and dubbed him "The Midnight Commando".

Anyway, this is Stone Soup for you (only include if you approve of a strong silliness factor):

Pikathulhu
A secret blood cult called forth a being of unspeakable horror from beyond the veil, a tentacled monstrosity that would blast the minds of all who looked upon it.

Unfortunately, another being of unspeakable horror stepped into the picture. It seems that one of the 12 child sacrifices destined for this being had recently befriended the extradimensional being known as Quirk.

Quirk did not approve of the events, and just as the summoning was underway and the creature appeared, Quirk interfered. He decided it would be fun to transform the being into a children's pet modeled after a popular television series and send the kids home.

Although Pikathulhu served the child well for a time, the family didn't much approved of a tentacled horror for a pet. In a confusing but humorous episode, Pikathulhu was adopted by the Nightstalkers.

Although bound by Quirk's transformation to serve his masters, some part of Pikathulhu secretly plots for the day it can regain its true form and exact revenge upon the earth. Meanwhile it fights evil and snacks happily on doggy treats.

Side note: Quirk also transformed the members of the cult into a pack of trading cards. The fate of this deck of evil is unknown, and of no concern to Quirk.

So if everyone has put their 2 cents in on the Nightstalkers - Lets try something different:

Dynamic (or Deadly) Duos

The concept create a Hero (or Villian) and their Sidekick!
PL of th main character should be 2 levels higher than the sidekick - ie Hero PL 10 + Sidekick PL 8 for stating purposses and Hero should have Feat: Sidekick. Other than that be creative and have fun!

Dangerous Duo

A pair of street level thieves with a nod to the 60's.

Lady Love and Mister Money.

The story is simple enough. Deborah Love was a wealthy socialite and adrenaline junkie who lived well, well into debt, that is. She found the perfect solution to both of her problems-- the robbery and theft of expensive things. She might have landed in prison after her first job if it weren't for a witness, a small time thief by the name of Jason Morris. His intervention turned the night into a complete success. Though neither would succeed alone, together they are pure genius.

Their style is flamboyant. They are as charming as can be during a robbery. They will hand cash to people as they leave, or Mr Money will slip a diamond bracelet on a woman's wrist. This has given them an undeserved Robin Hood reputation, to the point where it is almost fashionable among some circles to be robbed by them. When faced with any serious opposition they prefer to run away, fleeing in Lady Love's get away car, Cupid's Arrow.

Fire and Ice were born twins. Growing up it would have been very difficult to tell them apart as they looked identical and acted exactly the same. When they became teenagers, Fire and Ice gained a few traits that made them easy to tell apart, mainly one of them became hot tempered and was able to control fire while the other had a cold stare and the ability to control ice.

Now in their 20's, Fire and Ice travel around the world singing and dancing. They use their powers to put on the best of shows and like to do a little crime fighting on the side. The local police usually find a super-villain or two handed to their doorstep the night that Fire and Ice perform, always accompanied by a note, "Villains handed in by Fire and Ice.".

Unknow to the world in general, Lady Star's arrival on Earth released an alien virse that attacked infants with a certain genetic factor that caused them to become deathly ill only to recover as mysteriously as they had become sick. These innfants would remain healthy and normal but would carry the virse with them until it would again become activite when the childern reached pubtery then they would fall into a coma like state only to awaken with some form of genetic mutation. Allison Carwright was one such person. She had always dramed of become like her hero and role model only to awaken with super powers that would allow just that!

Cause is a jinx-throwing probability manipulator who is also the brains of the pair. Effect is your typical brick...

The Lion and the Wardrobe
Lion - is a savage claw equipped hero with a limited number of area effect sonic attacks (mighty roars). The Wardrobe - creates weapons/armor out of thin air

Wine- mind controlling babe
Vinegar- villain with the ability to induce pain by touch (mental attack-no range)

How about Chalk and Cheese.

Chalk
Powers: dust cloud (obscure), dustball (dazzle effects eyes), Stun attack (chalk board eraser - the one with the hard wooden handle), alter form (can turn to dust to slip through samll places)

Cheese
Powers: Paralysis (smell attack), stretch (like ripe cheese), snare (cheese string shoots out of hands) suffocate (throwing sticky cheese balls).

Just thought these would be a bit of a laugh to play :D :D :D .

Aww, I was hoping to see the stats for Hack and Slash!
