What do you want to see from the META-4 universe?

Postby Lammasu » Thu Jul 24, 2003 11:17 am

I demand a write up of the ancient astronaught. If my demands are not met i will be forced to destroy the earth with an atomic death ray! you know. like on the moon or something......

The Ancient Astronaut is referenced in the write-up for Iron Cross - you can check it out under Gimmick's Gadgets, it's the first Crooks preview.

I concur.....except that I'll smash the moon into the earth (right after I write my name on it with a giant "laser beam"...if it doesn't happen.

I'd rather not see Mr. Mystery. No matter how cool he is, he'll never be as cool as we've all built him up to be in his minds, so no matter what he'll be a disappointment.

And besides, if he has stats, he won't be a mystery anymore, he'll just be some guy with a couple of guns.

They needn't stat Mr. Mystery. He could be kind of like that issue of Secret Origins featuring the Phantom Stranger where four possible origins were detailed for the character, but none was shown as definitive.

As for me, I want to see the Pugilist, Twist, Inferna, Protonik, Lady Hex, Gimmick, Minotaur. . .the works! :D

I agree Mr Mystery should remain a mystery - but i would love to see more about not only the achtype characters but the other villians and even the Alt. world heroes found in the great art of the core rule book.

Oh definitely Nightlynx. I'd like to see profiles for Earth Proto, Primearth, Anti-Earth (the Meta-4 version) and Earth Red. Hehe. . .I imagine Earth Red might make for some interesting RP. . .

Why would Mr. Mystery be detailed in a villain book? Give it time ... I'm sure he'll show up in something

I don't expect him to be in CROOKS- this thread isn't CROOKS-centic- but I demand a full block of stats and background for my fave signature character thusfar from the Meta-4 setting.

And has anyone else noticed that '4' on a standard keyboard shifts to '$'? Some secret corporate super-manipulation at work perhaps???

Mister Mystery will get detailed.

I'm just not going to tell you when.

Or where.

It's a mystery.

Here's what you'll get from Crooks, from the list of requests above:

* A little more info on the Ancient Astronaut (though not his stats).
* Quite a bit more information on some of the archetype characters, including a chance to see some of them "in action."
* Neutronik gets a full write-up.

Lots of these requests will be covered fully in a yet-to-be-announced product currently planned for winter of this year.

I want to see The Norn's stats from Time of Crisis!

Postby Puroresu » Mon Jul 28, 2003 8:33 pm

I just got the Time of Crisis book as well as the Mutants & Masterminds core rulebook and the Freedom City sourcebook in a mailed package today and I really like it a lot! It definitely reminds me of DC Comics' classic epic "Crisis on Infinite Earths".
I would like to see the stats of The Norn listed in Crooks! or the Meta-4 special project Super Unicorn will be coming out with in the Winter of 2004.
I'm definitely going to purchase Crooks! It looks like it is going to be awesome! Also, I'm trying to design my history of C.O.B.R.A. campaign for Mutuants & Masterminds at:
http://www.brianrich.net/cobra.html
I would like C.O.B.R.A. to be an offshoot of SHADOW. I want to make C.O.B.R.A. give the heroes and villains a run for their money.
Keep up the great work!

You'll probably be disapointed then. While there is no reason that one cannot combine the Freedom City Universe along with the rest of the Meta-4 Universe, technically, they are separate realities, and I don't believe any interaction between the two is going to occur, at least not in published material.

We've always suggested that everyone exercise their creativity in mashing up the Freedom City universe and the META-4 universe.

You'll note that even in the core book, we have several META-4 characters fighting the evil duplicates from the Freedom City centered adventure.

Crooks! is a collection of bad-ass bad guys that have been, or will, menace the heroes of the META-4 universe, but they'd make more than worthy opponents for the likes of Next-Gen, or the Freedom League or even your superheroes!
