Become a Mutants & Masterminds Minion

Postby Nikchick » Tue May 20, 2003 7:57 am

You heard it here first...

Green Ronin seeks Minions, Freebooters, and DEMOnauts

Green Ronin Publishing is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers to join our official Green Ronin game support and demo teams.

Volunteers can apply to be one or all of our teams: Mutants and Masterminds Minions will be showing off Green Ronin’s hot new OGL supers game and its supplements; Freeport Freebooters will oversee store demos and convention events involving Green Ronin’s flagship Freeport: City of Adventure and our award-winning line of general D20 supplements; SpaceCorp DEMOnauts will be in charge of events for Spaceship Zero, our acclaimed game of '50s style swashbuckling space adventure. Volunteers will earn points that can be redeemed for Green Ronin product, as well as Demo Team special premiums not available elsewhere.

Individuals in the US and abroad who are interested in being part of Green Ronin’s demo force at local game stores and conventions in their region should fill out the application form at the Green Ronin website( http://www.greenronin.com/demo/demoform.php ) or send an e-mail query with their full contact information and qualifications to demo@greenronin.com .

Tell us more!

1) Will Minions be required to run published adventures and characters?

2) Will there be some sort of submission process for Minion-designed scenarios?

3) What other sorts of requirements will there be (miniatures, game at a store, duration, etc.)?

4) What sort of reporting/feedback process will be used?

5) Do Minions get rewarded for their loyalty? ;)

I've put together a little packet of information that I'll be sending out to people who sign up for the team, but here are my quick-and-dirty answers:

ash_kamini wrote:Tell us more!

For ease, we'll be offering up some "quick start" kits with using heroes and villains from the books, but I'm not going to force anyone to use them. ;)

ash_kamini wrote:2) Will there be some sort of submission process for Minion-designed scenarios?

Evan is setting up a private demo team section in the forum for us to use. I intend to det it up so that Minions and Freebooters can chat amongst themselves, share ideas and resources and Minion-designed scenarios, but I don't plan on having any exhaustive submissions or approvals or anything like that.

ash_kamini wrote:3) What other sorts of requirements will there be (miniatures, game at a store, duration, etc.)?

I'll be providing a set of guidelines for running a successful game, including how many people you need to get to participate to earn your points and so on. I'd rather not go into all the details here, it's a little lengthy.

ash_kamini wrote:4) What sort of reporting/feedback process will be used?

We're setting up a public calendar so people can see where events are happening during each month. Simple e-mail reporting, or a posted report to the message boards is all we're going to require, though I also have a plan that includes postage paid postcard evaluations for store demos. If any of you are familiar with the Cheapass Demo Monkey program or the SJG Men in Black program, our demo teams will function much the same.

But of course! Starting with laminated Minion ID cards. :)

Value of a soul?

Postby Ogrelord » Tue May 20, 2003 2:01 pm

Do minions have to pay for the kits and stuff, or do they get them when they trade in their eternal souls? What DO minions have to pay for?

We'll get our demoers what they need to run the games, plus any prizes, freebies, or extras. The demoers are just expected to show up. :) If we're talking about the big conventions where Green Ronin itself is attending, I hope to be able to offer a "badge and a bed" program like I did at Cheapas Games, but we'll have to see what kind of demand there is for that.

Hiya,
With the demo process, would that also demoing on the net as well? Also, What would a volunteer coordinator's job entail?

I hope foreign Minions are welcome as well, so I can spread the news about M&M in the area around Germany's famous Heidelberg (well, rather Mannheim, but most people just know Heidelberg)

We've been flooded with applications. I'll be getting back to people once the flood dies down a little. 8) Late in the week or early next week I'd hope!

This is cool.

And I've been meaning to ask...what are the odds on there ever being a Living Freedom City or somesuch? That would be off da hook!

Green Lantern sed: "And I've been meaning to ask...what are the odds on there ever being a Living Freedom City or somesuch?"

I'm not a fan of the RPGA (to say the least), but I'd give them another try if something MnM came along.

If another organization wanted to start up an "Immortal Freedom City", I'd definately get in on that...

And: "That would be off da hook!"

Yes. Yes, it would. ;)

The RPGA put a halt to new Living X campaigns recently, I think. A Living Freedom City would be cool, but it couldn't be up to GR to organize or we'd never get another book published. Just don't have the hero-power to handle it.
