Well, I'd certainly like it to do all skin types that Hero Machine can, but that may be too tall an order.

well i think it goes without saying that you will need firey/magam skin, rock skin, water....... basically all the elements......

So far I have for the standard male: two-tone (could be used for any metallic, energy, gradient-type effect depending on what colors you pick), electric/circuit/rock pattern (depending on what colors you pick again), veined rock, hairy male (i.e. wolverine/lobo), nipples (aquaman), and fur. I could really keep going on and on with skin but I am prob gonna stop here until later. Fire, water, energy, etc. will be added as power effects and I'm not quite there yet.

For example: you could pick the rock/circuit pattern and apply the pulsing skin power effect. If you had colored your skin black and the pattern bright blue, you would end up with a electrical circuit man. If you instead colored your skin dark brown and made the circuit red, you would get a lava rock man with pulsing magma veins. Some combinations might be exceedingly weird (pulsing nipples for example :)))...

Very open to interpretation. I think a lot effects in comics could be viewed different ways if you don't know what you are supposed to be seeing. For example, you could say that the new human torch looks like cheese-spray man.

Sleep is overrated.

Who said I sleep?

What you've posted already looks good. Keep it up, and remember: Since you're doing it for free, the only person you really have to satisfy is you.

Thanks! Seriously, as a longtime role-player it'll be a great kick to create something for others to enjoy using. So I hope to make most of the people happy most of the time. ;)

Heheh, it's okay... I only hope for instant perfection. What I expect is a litte less...

Ahhh...I hope for that too!

I'd love to be on the Beta list as well, please. That looks great! I love the animated style and I'm really looking forward to seeing what it can do.

One obvious suggestion, that I miss a great deal from HeroMachine: more mask styles!

The simple domino mask w/'slits', ala Dr. Tomorrow (FC16)
The skinny domino mask, ala Wildcard (FC147)
The open-eyes visible domino mask, ala Robin done by Perez
The wide-temple mask, ala Megastar (FC47)
The 'band' type mask, ala Seven (FC132)
Da Hood, ala Sonic (FC134)
The hood and tie, ala The Bowman (FC 128)

And of course there are more than that, but that's my main thing on a Wish List. And hair styles. Odd how out of all the hair styles HM has, only two fit a semi-modern young man's cut. We need dreads, fades, etc etc :)

Excellent work, man, really excellent.

I have a session coming up this weekend, so I'd love to try out your character image creator. I hope that it has more variety than Hero Machine. And thx for taking a lot of your time to work on a FREE tool like this!

Didn't get the symbol maker quite done yet. Also need to add textures to the bodysuit.

Don't foget about metallic bodies, for those Cyclone types.

Which is another thing: the inclusion of objects. Say I want a mini-gun like Cyclone's, or a staff, or Cyclops's goggles, or something.

Don't forget capes! Capes are terribly important!

And also don't forget about power's FXs. I want my Energy Field to come in all shapes and colors!

Hum... what else?

Oh, take a look at my Avatar. Could you replicate him? Including the energy sword?

I can't give a firm date on Beta testing but I am really hoping for no more than another week or two. I see clothing as one of my larger tasks right now as I have a huge group put together for just the standard male and female, which needs translating into flash and aligning over the character templates. ;)

Don't foget about metallic bodies, for those Cyclone types.

Got a silver surfer type already in the first batch of screen shots (#3). But I plan on adding riveted metal and colossus style plated metal as well. Really there are so many things I could do for skin that I am trying to push myself onwards to other stuff and come back later.

Which is another thing: the inclusion of objects. Say I want a mini-gun like Cyclone's, or a staff, or Cyclops's goggles, or something.

Oh yes, gear. That comes after clothing and my feeling at the moment is to allow various gear to be positioned as desired. For saving purposes, this would prob involve a set limit but I'm not sure yet exactly how I want to handle it. I'm leaning towards doing a power armor expansion later as I could really go wild with that stuff.

Don't forget capes! Capes are terribly important!

Capes, gloves and boots are ready for the clothing tab.

And also don't forget about power's FXs. I want my Energy Field to come in all shapes and colors!

Powers come after gear and are really my last step. Mainly because they have to work with everything else. There will be auras which can be applied in various shapes and textures (and of course you can color them) as well as other stuff like glowing eyes, etc.

Oh, take a look at my Avatar. Could you replicate him? Including the energy sword?

I can't quite make out all the details, but energy swords (prob just one for now) will be in gear. Are those goggles? Goggles/glasses are a mask option (though I am debating making them a clothing item later).

The thing I really dig about your project is your willingness to listen to people's requests, no mather how difficult they might seem!

THose are not goggles, it's a mask, similar to Spawn's. And I guess you've already replied that. ;)

Trés cool, I can't really wait for it!

Good lord, I just noticed you have a tab on there for height and weight. So... I could make kid-sized fat people if I wanted? Or extra-tall heroin-chic fashionistas? Mmmm.

Storn? Obsolete? Do you know how many character ideas I've gotten from your art? If I could afford it, I'd be paying you to do specific character portraits for me!

Obsolete? Hell no! Custom work is always going to beat a portrait generator even if I spent an entire year developing it.

Man, I've been spending so much time on this that I haven't been able to do any pencils or ink and color the pencils I do have! ;) How do you find the time to do all the lovely work on your thread?

I really like how you integrated the ps filters seemlessly into the "modern ranger" piece!

Will there be various body types? I'm specifically asking about Hulk/Thing type bodies and, perhaps, the ability to alter the skin so that the character appears crystalline, or rocky (like Thing). Looks great and I'd also love to beta. Thanks.

Oh yes. I'd really like to include as many as possible but time constraints will prob put a limit on the initial release. I'm shooting for at least standard male, standard female, and brick male (hulk/thing) to start with. Some I'd like to do: brick female (for completeness), speedster male/female, archer male/female, and power armor male/female. Note that some of those are really just different poses. But I'm open if anyone has anything else their burning for... ;)

Lot's of skin types, yep.

That's awesome, Superstar. Thanks. Don't forget to include dozens and dozens of logos, both for the center chest area (like Superman) and the left chest area (like Robin's insignia I guess). Also, perhaps a spot on the forehead/mask for the logo. I cannot wait to try this out. Thanks for doing this and, if you are so inclinded, I would be willing to pay a small amount to help offset your expenses and time. Perhaps through a paypal account or something. Thanks again.
