Okay, don't yell at me. (I've already plunked down the change for a pre-order!) But I'm wondering about something. The preview has Kalak listed as a sorcerer. But he looks a little paltry as sorcerers go. Looks like he's a basically flying blaster with a force shield and a slow spell. Now, I realize that you all wanted to keep things simple for purposes of the preview, but ...

... are we going to be able to make wizard-like characters who have a greater variety of spells & spell-like powers? You know, guys who can turn people into stone or frogs or fruitbats, control minds, dimension travel, shapechange, and so forth? Or are all of the characters going to be limited to a handful of powers?

In a word, yes. As you suspect, Kalak's character sheet is greatly simplified for the purposes of the flier. Characters with the Sorcery power have a tremendous potential range of powers, but they also pay for it. (Sorcery is, as you might expect, one of the most expensive powers in the game.)

I think M&M does a good job of allowing for "do it all" characters like Dr. Strange, Green Lantern, the Engineer, et. al. while keeping them under control in comparison to heroes with more narrow sets of abilities.

Ahhh. Thanks. Feeling much relieved now ...

(No problem with sorcerers being expensive - they SHOULD be - )

Can't wait to get my hands on that tool box so I can take a crack at Dormammu, Mordru & Morgan Le Fey!
