Gaming Group to Play SIFRP in Marathon Session for Charity

Postby Gelatinous_Dudes » Thu Jun 28, 2012 4:32 am

Halifax, NS- This July, Winter is coming to Halifax as the Gelatinous Dudes undertake their sixth annual fund raiser for charity. On July 28-29, the Dudes will play for 24 hours straight to raise money for Adsum House for Women and Children.

Using Green Ronin's Song of Ice and Fire RPG, the players will all be members of a minor Northern house who get caught up in turmoil in the North. The players are big fans of the G.R.R Martin books and the HBO TV series and are looking forward to making their mark on Westeros.

The first Gelatinous Dudes’ 24-hour game was held in July, 2007. Since then the annual event has raised over $4,000 for charity.

Prolific game master, Mike Peterson (aka Zuran_Alda on the Gelatinous Dudes’ forums), will be running this year’s 24-hour game.

Adsum for Women & Children is a charitable, community based organization located in Halifax, Nova Scotia that supports women and children who are homeless or at risk of becoming so.

The Gelatinous Dudes is a group of Halifax table top gaming enthusiasts. The Dudes share a love for gaming and enjoy using their hobby to be a positive force in their community.

The 24-Hour game was this past weekend and raised over $1,500 for local charity Adsum House. Here's a shot of the players displaying the goodies GR sent to us. After the game, the books were raffled off to people who made pledges. Thanks to GR for their support!

Well now this is what is called as pure heartedness of the gamers. I haven’t seen many people doing such a thing. These gamers have a heart of gold and I really appreciate them on this aspect.
