Campaign Guide: Game of Thrones Edition Errata

Please use this thread as a place to post any errata you find or questions you might have regarding the new Campaign Guide: Game of Thrones Edition. Folks have PDFs in their hands now, and we wanted to give everyone a week or two to go over them before the final print PDF is sent to the Great Printing Castle In The Sky.

Awesome! I'll keep my eyes open for mistakes.

I do have one suggestion - though it isn't errata per se and I don't want this to turn into a stats discussion. But I think the Hound needs a serious upgrade. As it is, Ilyn Payne, Barristan Selmy and several others are stronger. In my mind, there's the Mountain than the Hound. Also, his fighting should be a good bit higher (better than his brother in my opinion - Gregor just inflicts crazy damage.)

Throw in Sinister while you're at it (the scene in the TV show when he walked in on Bronn and the singing and fun stopped was perfect)

Oh, and Fear of Fire and Bound to the Bottle - the man does have his flaws

Here are a few mistakes I found:

- Ser Jacelyn Bywater has Status 8 (p.40). I doubt he should have a Status rank this high, but if indeed he does have it, then his Intrigue Defense is wrong.

- Robert Baratheon has the Compelling (Seduce) benefit, but not the Charismatic prerequisite (p.43).

- Cersei Lannister has the Magnetic benefit, but not the Charismatic prerequisite (p.45).

- Varys has the Talented (Disguise) benefit (p.50). It should probably be either Talented (Deception) or Expertise (Disguise).

- Gregor Clegane has both the Massive and Blood of Heroes (Athletics) benefits (p.172), two benefits with the Heritage Quality, but a character is normally allowed to take only one. Personally, I always house-rule that these two benefits are not considered to have the Heritage Quality, so I don't really mind, but by RAW, it is considered an error.

And I agree with Jon about Sandor getting an upgrade. Jaime admits in the book that Sandor is stronger than him, but Jaime has Athletics 6 (Strength 3B) and Sandor only Athletics 4 (Strength 2B).

I think Tywin Lannister needs more Cunning than Rank 3.

Tyrion's High Valyrian Language Ability doesn't have a rank.

Janos Slynt's Combat Defense doesn't add up correctly.

Jaime's Longsword damage should be 7. (should it be called superior instead of excellent?)

Jaime's War Lance should be less 1b on attack and a damage of 12.

Jaime should have a damage of 4 on shield.

Barristan Selmy should have a 5 damage on longsword due to flaw?

Barristan's war lance attack should be -1b.

Barristans lg shield attack should be damage of 2 due to flaw?

I think Asha (pp. 124-125) is missing a nod towards Marksmanship/Thrown and Persuasion/Taunt. In her description, as well as being later shown in the novels, it is noted that she is proficient with Throwing Axes. Her Marksmanship is unlisted (2D), but she should probably be at least Marksmanship 2D~3D with 1B~2B in Thrown. She is also is described in her passage as having a disarming wit, and is shown to be pretty emasculating and brutal with her put downs in the books, so a 1B Taunt might be warranted.

Oberyn's weapon is is listed on page 217 as a "Superior Short Spear". To avoid a minor bit of confusion for new players like myself, a change to "Superior Spear" might work better (I immediately started wondering about reach rules and whether or not a Short Spear was the equivalent of a Frog or Boar Spear). Also, as Jon noted above, his Spear damage should be 5 (4 (Athletics) + 1 for Weapon Mastery).

I am also on board with the buffs suggested for the Hound, and/or the 3B Strength being a bit high for Jaime (and for Barristan for that matter).

Two more quick ones:
-King Robert's Full Plate on page 43 is listed as "AR 20" instead of 10.
-On the same page, Robert's Health is listed as "20" (from the END 6 and 2B Resilience from Tough), but the Flaw(END) should drop this total down to "17", correct (like Slynt's END Flaw drops his Health from 9 to 6 on page 39)?

Where did you get that? If the flaw reduces health, it should reduce health by -3.

A flaw in an ability reduces all derived stats by 1, Health is a derived stat from endurance. Passive abilities are calculating as if the ability is one lower.

Add the following sentences to the end of the paragraph.

When calculating your passive test result with this ability, you treat your ability as being 1 point lower. For example, if you have Perception 4 and the Flaw (Perception) drawback, your passive Perception result would by 12 ([4 − 1] x 4). You also reduce any derived characteristics (such as Intrigue Defense) by 1.

It gives the -1 penalty before the calculation, not after. Even though it only specifies passive tests and not a derived stat like Health, presumably it works the same way by affecting the base ability.

In intrigue defense no stat is multiplied. Health and Composure are different in so far as they are calculated as 3*stat. In my regard it's obvious to decrease health and composure for every flaw by 3. I suppose the last quoted sentence is wrong/misleading.

And how does that make sence in any way? They are not derived in the same way but the flaw should apply the same way?
