Holiday to West Coast of America

Hello Everyone,
My wife and I are booking a holiday from Oz to Las Vagas for a Event Decorating convention at the end of Feb.
We wanted to see some snow and will fly in to LA with a few days to play around with.
I was thinking a bus trip up into the rockies?
We were thinkiing maybe a hire car, but not sure if I want to go down that road, as we live in a small city with no traffic! Its Darwin and its hot.
She who must be obeyed wants to go to Disney land so I loose a day there!!

Any help from members? I probably have about 3-4 days and we only want snow and a log cabin with the fire.

Well as someone who lives in Vegas, the Rockies are pretty far away, especially if you have 3-4 days. From here to Denver is a pretty full day's drive, a little less to Veil and the ski resorts. There's no snow here or in the surrounding mountains - it's been mid 60's for the last 1.5 - 2 weeks. There are some resorts closer in Utah like Brianhead - but I don't know if there's much snow there either. The Grand Canyon is not too far off and there's helicopter flights there from Vegas.

As far as Southern Cali, it's been pretty warm there too, maybe someone from the area can report if there's any ski resorts/snow open close to LA.

If I recall correctly, the Orlesians claimed Ferelden smelled like wet dog (Dragon Age).

But had not looked any further to find out where it was from Vegas.
What we really want is a cabin up in the snow.

It's not too far towards LA, maybe 4-5 hour drive from Vegas. It's nice up there, I've been there in summer but not in the winter. I would check to see if there's snow though, it's been unseasonally warm and clear for awhile.
