I've come up with a few more mirror villains and decided to create a thread dedicated to them. The first ones you will recognize, but I have made a few changes. There are also a couple of new ones to follow. So, without much more adieu:

The Ruthless

The Ruthless is a group of similar minded individuals that enjoy causing havoc. They have all worked for various organizations over the years, before coming together. Now they hire themselves out to whoever needs their particular kind of abilities. The Ruthless has been responsible for murder, sabotage, and kidnappings, as well as numerous other misdeeds.

The Ruthless does not worry about their actions as they regard anyone else. Innocent bystanders are casually or brutally cast aside. The individuals that make up this group are all experienced at dealing with other supers and work well as a team. It is not recommended that they be treated lightly.

Major Mercenary

Name: Sebastian Riordan
Affiliation: The Ruthless
Power Level: 12
Height: 6 ft. 2 in.
Weight: 220 lbs.
Origin: Major Mercenary grew up in Ireland. He joined the fight to free Northern Ireland from British rule early on. Wanting to learn as much as possible, Major Mercenary took advantage of connections with other organizations to gain skills and equipment. As time went on, he gained a reputation for getting the job done efficiently and began to hire himself out to whoever could afford him. While an excellent solo operator, Major Mercenary could see the advantages of having a good team. He then began to form the Ruthless.

Origin: Dr. Armand Geddon was fascinated with the Chaos Theory. Feeling that there was an actual force of chaos, he traveled the world looking for any clues which would help him discover it. Over the years he gathered information and artifacts, which lead him to create an elixir that he ingested, transforming him into a hulking form of pure chaotic force. Unfortunately, Dr. Geddon has no control over when he transforms into either the beast or back into his normal form. When threatened, though, Dr. Geddon is likely to change. It is probably a preservation reflex. Major Mercenary found and recruited him into the Ruthless for both his scientific genius, as well as his unbridled lust for destruction.

Origin: Of Arabian descent, Alain was born into a very wealthy family. He was schooled in America at MIT, when it was discovered that he had an interest in robotics. Alain learned his lessons well and returned home. There, he used his familys wealth to create a suit of powered armor. Using his suit, Alain became Black Steel, an avenger of the Middle East. As he felt America was at the root of many of the Middle Easts problems, he focused his most of his actions on them. Black Steel came to Major Mercenary's attention with his actions, impressing him. Major Mercenary offered a place in the group to Black Steel, which he accepted.

Origin: It is unknown who or what Ares is. He claims to be the Greek god of war. Whether or not he is who he says does not matter to Major Mercenary. Ares thrives on conflict and is quite good at causing damage. He loves to be in the thick of any battle.

Origin: Dr. Hal Pinder is a scientist. Unfortunately, his ideas are not well accepted in the scientific community. It has something to do with using humans as guinea pigs. Ousted from just about every scientific organization, Dr. Pinder needed to get cash to continue his experiments. He created an elixir to transform his size so he could steal the cash he needed. During this time, he met Janika VonDoor. He designed an elixir for her and the two of them teamed up. Once they became well known in the criminal underground, they came to the attention of Major Mercenary. He promptly recruited them for his group.

The Pest

Origin: A well to do socialite, Janika VonDoor was amazed to one day find that her husband had lost all their money to bad investments. Furious, she planned and executed his death, disappearing with the insurance money before the authorities caught on. The money did not last long, but Janika was able to use her charms to get more. She eventually met Dr. Hal Pinder, who gave her an elixir that gave her incredible abilities. She joined Dr. Pinder and together, they would steal whatever they needed. When Major Mercenary offered her a spot on his team, she gladly went.

ArachKid

Name: Parker Peters
Affiliation: None
Power Level: 15
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Origin: His father unknown, his mother OD'd when he was a baby. Parker was put into the system and moved from foster home to foster home until his teens. Once a teenager, Parker decided to strike out on his own and ran away from the last foster home. He began to do robberies to get money.
A local chemical drug dealer hired him to break into a local pharmaceutical company for certain needed chemicals. During the robbery Parker set off a silent alarm. Trying to escape the security guards, Parker managed to get himself into a wing where genetic experiments were being done. Unfortunately, this is where the guards finally closed in on him. In the ensuing fight, Parker ended up doused in some experimental chemicals containing arachnid DNA. This somehow got absorbed into his system, transforming him.
When he regained consciousness, in a jail cell, Parker discovered he had incredible powers. He immediately escaped incarceration and put his new abilities to use doing bigger and better robberies, eventually taking the name ArachKid.

Power Fist

Name: Donald "Donny" Rend
Affiliation: Villains for Hire
Power Level: 12
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 175 lbs.
Origin: Donny is the son of an French Foreign Legion soldier who deserted the Legion during the 50s in favor of the Golden Triangle. His father became a bodyguard for a local drug lord and eventually took up with a local woman. They had Donny soon after.
The drug lord had to constantly be on the move, so Donny's father dragged his family all over the Golden Triangle. It was during one of these excursions that Donny was separated from his family during a storm. Lightning from the storm opened a dimensional portal that Donny stepped through. He ended up in a pocket world that was a prison for an insane martial arts master by the name of Kunlang.
Kunlang made Donny his servant, but, at the same time, took him on as his apprentice. Donny learned much from Kunlang, including much of Xionju, the lost art that he was a master of. Kunlang had begun to teach his art to whoever would pay him, which had angered other masters. They gathered together and had him banished to this pocket dimension.
Donny learned from Kunlang for many years. One day, having had enough of the abuse, Donny, through some trickery and luck, was able to kill Kunlang. With Kunlang dead his dimensional prison collapsed, freeing Donny back into his normal world. A world, though, which had changed drastically in 50 years. Some of Kunlang's mercenary attitude had rubbed off on Donny, so he decided to start a business that would supply soldiers and specialists to people who would pay well. His business is called Mercenary Inc., but is better known as Villains For Hire. During the start up of the business, Iron Man was one of the first employees. The two of them became fast friends and Iron Man is now his partner.

Origin: Born in the mean streets of LA, Duke grew up, as many other young black men do, in the shadow of the many gangs in the streets. Duke eventually joined a gang called the Black Ravens. During a retribution attack on another gang, Duke was shot and left for dead, but was rescued by the police. He was still charged with many murders and put away into the system.
During his incarceration, he was given an option to take part in an experiment to reduce his time. He accepted and was given some chemicals and radiation treatments, which lead him to gain the powers and abilities that he now has. He also discovered that the government had no intention of letting him go, even more so now that he had gained the abilities that he had. Duke did the only thing he could and broke out. He moved to the West Coast and started a new criminal career in New York as muscle. He eventually met Donny Rend in the process of creating a company that supplied muscle and the two of them went into business together.

An ELF is an Experimental Life Form. They are mutates created by various government programs and, sometimes, private corporations. Some have escaped and formed their own groups to wreck havoc on the government (or the corporation) that spawned them specifically and everyone else in general.

Guardian Angel

Name: Murdock Matthews
Affiliation: None
Power Level:
Height: 6'
Weight: 200 lbs.
Origin: Murdock was always a vengeful person. As a kid, an old man jostled his way in front of Murdock at an intersection. In revenge, Murdock pushed the old man in front of an oncoming truck. What he didn't expect was for the truck to swerve at the last moment, hit him, and spray the radioactive waste it was carrying across his eyes. He lost his sight, but his other senses were heightened and he gained a new "radar sense."

About this time, Murdock's dad, a boxer, was approached by organized crime to throw a fight which the elder Matthews had no problem doing for the money offered. However, the police learned about the deal and wanted Matthews to testify against the mob after he threw the fight. Instead, Murdock's father told the mobsters about the police approaching him, and they switched the fight so Matthews would win. The detective in charge of the investigation was so angry that he shot Murdock's father and got away with it by claiming he had been attacked and Matthews' status as a trained boxer meant his life was endangered.

Murdock decided that the police and the legal system itself were to blame for his father's death. He swore revenge, but learning from his accident, he would be more cunning this time.

Now, Murdock Matthews is a highly successful defense lawyer. He has made a name for himself for getting obviously guilty criminals off the hook. After a comment by one of his clients that he was like the "guardian angel of crime," Matthews made himself a costume and an offer hit the streets. Keep those costumed do-gooders off your back; hire yourself a Guardian Angel.

Elves

After WWII, both America and Russia snatched up many of the scientists working for the German War Machine. These scientists were brought back to those respective countries and put to work for them. Many of the scientists were from the field of genetic engineering. In America, it was these scientists that were part of the creation of Project: ELF. ELF stands for Experimental Life Form.

The point of Project: ELF was to create mutated humans that would be able to adapt to different environments. Early on, most of this was theoretical as the right technology was not available yet. There was some testing done with chemicals and radiation, though. In an effort to give their soldiers on the battlefield an extra benefit, different serums were created. Most uses of them ended tragically or horrifically. There were a few experiments that were successful, but the effects could not be duplicated faithfully. This is where some of the battle drugs taken by certain elite soldiers today came from.

As technology progressed, so, too, did the experiments. Project: ELF was trying cloning and genetic engineering by the early 70s. Again, there were successes and failures, but they would not get anything stable until the late 70s. Mutations, though, were still hit-or-miss and still made this a somewhat random science. It was impossible to tell what type of abilities each experiment would exhibit, but the process was at least stabilized.

For the last twenty years, Project: ELF has created many experimental life forms. They educated them and watched them grow. Some of them have recently begun to show up in public, working with local police or other authorities. Some have also shown up in other areas like the space program or emergency response teams, like firefighters. The are touted as a new breed of human, here to help us.

Recently, though, there was an uprising at one of the centers that house these "Elves" and group of them escaped. What there intentions are, only time will tell?

This is pure genius!!! I could see a total setting based around this very concept of where supers come from!!! I look forward to seeing where else you go with this great idea!

Just a question: why does ColdBlood have both Energy Field and Force Field as Extras?

And I love Wyvern! Oh, I know it's Angel, but I can totally see it: green scales, bat wings, claws on hands and feet, dripping poison... Sweeeeet.! :D

I'm working more on villains, so I haven't thought too much on converting current villains to heroes. Probably more down the road.

As for doing the FF, I'm not in too much of a hurry. There is already the Factor Four and I converted the U-Foes back in my Mook Parade thread. Maybe down the road, though.

Energy Field is representative of how cold he is and that liquid oxygen runs through his blood. Anyone getting to close to him or hitting him gets damaged by it. It could also be ColdBlood creating ice spikes all over his body to protect himself, if you wanted it to. The Force Field is his skin hardening as ice to protect him.
