Hey everyone! Any news when the game itself will be coming out? Also will there be a sneak peek at any of the goodies already available? Thanks in advance Maester Luwin

This is listed on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Song-Ice-Fire-Roleplaying-Adventures/dp/1934547123/ref=sr_1_4/104-2123166-1536739?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1194475821&sr=1-4

It has a 25 August 2008 release date i.e. GenCon 2008. It is 192 pages, which is quite short unless it has good support.

On first view 192 pages seem short but

1) we do not know how the text will be arranged. You can cram a lot of text into 192 pages

2) GR is GR and not WoC. But they have said that ASOIF will be a full colour book. So to bring high quality they have to cut down the quantity.

3) The books do not have to provide in depth setting info. If you want to immerse yourself in Westeros go and read the books. I guess ASOIF will only provide a general overview.

4) Amazon might be wrong and ASOIF will be 250+ pages

5) in the "Still no News" thread Rob already confirmed, that they plan on supporting the line with more books.

That said I rather like to have a small "Core Book" that I can easily carry around than a Doorstopper like Guardian of Order's "A Game of Thrones" (though it is a brillant book).

Yes, the core book comes out in August and it is 192 pages. This is primarily a rule book and we wanted to make it of reasonable length. It's being followed up with a campaign guide, which is 256 pages and has the meat of the setting and GM material. Further material, including an adventure, will follow.

This forum has been pretty quiet of late. Is the preview still on for next month? Is the game still on? Any news at all? Patiently waiting, maybe Maester Luwin

A Song of Ice & Fire Roleplaying Quick-Start will be available on Free RPG Day (June 21st). The SIFRP core rulebook is finishing up in editing and moving on to layout soon.

Het Steve! Thanks you for the heads up! I shall be on vacation that week so it will work out perfectly. I might be able to rework my campaign using the new rules! I thank you again! Maester Luwin

oh for sure Luwin. I've been keeping myself busy post-GoO with tabletop Vampire, tabletop D&D, and loads of end-game Black Temple raiding in World of Warcraft.
