ASOIG RPG games Online?

Postby Olligarchy » Fri Jul 20, 2012 6:30 am

Hello!
I'm a veteran SIFRPG player and of late have been unable to convince my traditional group to play it with me, so I have been wondering if there's any games running online using Skype or similar programs. I am living in GMT+2.
Thanks in advance.

I'm a newbie who is real interested in giving SIFRP a try online. I've got experience with M&M and D&D. I'm up for Skype, Google hang outs, play by post or play by email.

And then there was two. :D Seems I'm not alone. A few more players and we could go about organizing it amongst ourselves.

I don't see any SIFRP games recruiting on their right now. Do you think that would be a good place to look though?

I am also interested in playing the game online as well. I don't have a lot of experience actually playing the game, but I have read the new GoT edition a lot. Our timezones don't match up well, since I am i GMT -7, but I have quite a bit of free time currently, so I could probably make anytime work.

There's talk of starting one. And if someone does start one, there's bound to be a good deal of interest.

The game is currently being debated in the Game Planning forum.

However, while I will likely be starting one, since the interest is gathering there, I probably won't make it an open call for applications. Since you're looking though, if you register on Myth-Weavers, fire a PM to me (Gamer Gig), and I'll see about sending a game invite to you (once the game is set up)

I've had pretty good luck with Roll20, a great site for doing real-time online table top playing. http://www.roll20.net

How does that work?

Everyone needs to be online on the same time?

I wished FG2 had a rule set for this game. I'm so NOT adept at making rules sets or I'd try it myself.

Yeah, sorry; should have clarified. It's a video conference alternative to being in-person at a gaming table, rather than an asynchronous gaming platform. It allows the GM to set up image screens, with or without grids, and even to set up a "fog of war" for portions the players can't see. Meanwhile, the players each control one of their tokens.

You don't have to use that screen just for miniatures on a map, though; it serves perfectly well as spaces to display NPC images, countryside maps or whatever. It uses video conferencing so everyone can interact in real time, and also has a chat function, including a dice roller.

There is no game built in to this set-up; it's wholly a system meant to facilitate gaming, rather than provide it. It's pretty sweet. I'm in the middle of a move from Atlanta to Portland, and I'll be finishing up a couple of games with groups here in Georgia once I get settled in.

I am currently planning on a campaign to be played over RolePlay onLine, so it'd be a play-by post campaign. Synapsis would revolve around a minor house in the Riverlands. If anyone is interested, you are welcome to PM me here.

Found my way into the Game Planning forum on myth-weavers, and now I see some games. I guess I'll go register over there as well. Here is the link for anyone else interested.

Seems like someone should start another one, I am thinking.

I'm personally too busy to do so.
