Another R.I.P.: Patrick McGoohan, dead at 80. His acting alone put him in Valhalla, from his turn on Danger Man to his memorable guest shots on Columbo. But, of course, he'll be remembered best for creating maybe the finest television show ever. Seventies sci-fi owes a lot to his off-kilter, and intensely moral, vision of Man vs. State.

He was an original, and thoroughly irreplaceable. Be seeing you, someday.
