How many versions of the Cultist class are there?

Next questions: How many versions of the Cultist class are there?

I'm aware of the 3.0 version from City of Adventure, the 3.5 version from the Freeport Trilogy: 5 Year Anniversary, and the 3.5 version from the d20 Companion. Were there any others?

Can anyone offer any insight into why the 3.5 revisions?

Those are all the versions I'm aware of. The version in the Trilogy omnibus is a direct v.3.5 update to F:CoA, and shouldn't have significant changes.

I hadn't actually realized that the d20 Companion version had changed as much as it did until I went and compared all three just now. (Says the nitpicky errata guy...) I've just been referring to the Companion for all my cultist needs since it came out, as it's the latest and thus most "official" version. I honestly don't know why those changes were made; you'd have to ask the Ronins.

They're both interesting classes, but overall, I think I like the most recent one better.

Too bad the reference to a Greater Cultist doesn't lead anywhere.
