[Thieves' World]Craftsman Background query

I'm about to start my third TW, campaignl. One of my players wishes to play a Fighter, Craftsman; now there is the Common Character on p207 of SGtS, it is mentioned on the Expanded Backgrounds table 8-2 p223 of SGtS, Dubro, has the craftsman background with SQ master craftsman on p95 of SGtS and Expanded Backgrounds table 6-4 p109 TWG. However there is no actual description for this Background in either publication. Any idea of what the Age Modifier, is and what the Craftsman Trait, is. TIA.
