December 20, 2001 Holly Daze
Just a quick note to let you all know that we're taking some time off for Christmas and won't be filling any orders between Christmas and New Years, seeing as how no one will be in the office. Hey, give us a breakSanta gets almost the whole year off, and we're just taking a week.
ps: If you're looking for something fun to do over the holidays, why not grab your copy of Ork! The Roleplaying Game, download Santa Claus vs. The Orks!, our free Christmas adventure for Ork! by Todd Miller, and run through it with your family. Try and get Grandma to Gamemaster.

We have a special treat for you all today--a sneak preview of Arcana: Societies of Magic, our next d20 System sourcebook. In the excerpt you'll learn all about the Servants of Decay--unless they destroy civilization before you finish reading it, that is...
Arcana is shipping from the printer this week, but it won't be in stores until after Christmas. We hope this sneak preview can tide you over until then. Enjoy!

December 15, 2001 Scratch & Dent Sale
Death in Freeport and the first print run of the d20 System Character Record Folio are both "officially" out-of-print. Don't despair, though--we followed our warehouse map to the X and dug up some slightly damaged copies of both books. They're a little too bent or scratched to put on a store shelf, but they have all the pages and are perfectly useable, and they're on sale in our online store. It's your lucky day, matey!
Toren "MacBin" Atkinson has posted some sample art online at http://thickets.50megs.com/legion.htm. It includes images from Legions of Hell, Jade Dragons & Hungry Ghosts, and Armies of the Abyss. You should probably go check it out now, don't you think?

We are very proud to announce Mutants & Masterminds, Green Ronin's d20 System superhero RPG, set to debut in Fall, 2002. Written by Steve Kenson of Shadowrun fame, the Mutants & Masterminds system features fast, simple mechanics that streamline the d20 System rules for superhero play and a modular power-creation system that lets players design any sort of super-power they want. Read the whole press release.
The updated d20 System Character Record Folios are now officially available, and all orders from December 13th on will be filled with the new version.

Simon Collins, d20Reviews.com house reviewer, has posted a review of Hell in Freeport, in which he gives it 5 out of 5.
"Green Ronin have provided another excellent adventure, this time on an even more epic scale than the first series. Use with the Legions of Hell sourcebook is recommended but not essential. Any who have run Freeport adventures previously, or who like the idea of a Hell-based adventure is in for a treat. Nevertheless, this could be modified to be run in a variety of fantasy campaigns with some work (presuming your view of Hell is the same one as standard D&D), and has a wealth of ideas which could be used outside the adventure itself...."
Spoiler Warning: This review contains major spoilers, so the Webmaster would like to take a moment to remind his players to stay away!

December 6, 2001 Character Record Folio News
The updated version of the Green Ronin d20 System Character Record Folio is already printed, and set to release to distribution on December 10th! Version 1.0 was a big hit, and sold out really quickly. Like the wind. Version 2.0 is even better!
Meanwhile, while digging around on gameplaynews.com, we discovered a review of the Character Record Folio we hadn't seen before. In the review, Jeff Ibach writes:
"I immediately suggested my entire game group grab a copy. Some keep bad notes. Some make their own sheets, and some just need something clear. There is something in here for every D&D player, even if you create your own sheets, as some of the ideas and [the] way they're tracked (like level advancement) are excellent models. The clear design on the front is woefully ignored by most designers, who try to cram in every little ability with 5-point type making players squint and search for info in an otherwise fast-played game. These sheets are all laid out for quick, speedy play, and I can recommend them."

Game Play News (http://www.gameplaynews.com/) has recently posted a review of Hell in Freeport by James Sharkey. In it he writes:
"I would recommend Hell in Freeport to any experienced DM who wants a challenge for both himself and his players. And if you've played [any] of the other Freeport games, it's a must have. It's a very good adventure that many a table will remember fondly for years to come."

December 4, 2001 Master Class Series Announced
We are very excited to announce our Master Class series of books, set to launch in 2002. Each volume of the Master Class series will introduce a new core class to the d20 System and flesh it out with new feats, skills, equipment, organizations, prestige classes, and spells.
The first Master Class book, the Shaman's Handbook by Shadowrun novelist and Dragon Magazine regular Steve Kenson, debuts in March. Over the rest of 2002 the line will expand to include the Monster Slayer's Handbook by Runequest author Steve Perrin, the Witch's Handbook by the prolific Steve Kenson, and the Assassin's Handbook by former Dragon Magazine editor and Dark Matter creator Wolfgang Baur.
As promised earlier, we've got a preview of the art from Green Ronin's upcoming d20 System Monster Compendium, Armies of the Abyss. It features the amazingly demonic artistic stylings of Toren "MacBin" Atkinson, Drew Baker, Tom Baxa, Brian Despain, and Chris Keefe. Check it out!
